On the 1st of May Agnese Narnicka, the creator of fashion label “Hypnosis” (Latvia), won the Baltic Fashion Award for the best Men’s collection of 2010.

Agnese participated in the contest with her latest collection – “The Idler”. This collection is rich with social and cultural reflections. The inspiration comes from what is usually considered ugly and disgusting by the society – abandoned buildings, waste, pollution. The character, however, was found by inspiring from freaks, homeless and other people, being generally not accepted among the majority of modern societies. The collection features 14 full costumes, supposed to be worn by emotionally rich idler with a particularly vivid imagination. This person is ready to hug the whole world; he is willing to take a look and focus on the tiniest details.
The USEDOM Baltic Fashion Award is an annual event since 2002 and is an international competition for creative fashion designers from Scandinavia and countries around the Baltic Sea. For this year’s competition’s final 11 collections from Latvia, Germany, Lithuania, and Sweden were chosen. Agnese Narnicka was the only representative from Latvia in this year’s final.

Label Hypnosis  was established in 2006 in Latvia, and is currently one of the most recognized fashion labels in Latvia. Agnese Narnicka has been a laureate of many local and international designers competitions. Agnese has a master’s degree in fashion design from the Art Academy of Latvia. Ms. Narnicka spent an exchange semester in Milano, studying at the  Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.
